Two prizes were awarded for the Sofia Med Quintiq systems and their utilization, in Monday’s Manufacturing Excellence Awards, one Gold and one Silver.
Sofia Med competed in category 3.2 “Optimized Production Organization” with the candidacy titled “Advanced Planning and Production Scheduling for the Sofia Med Copper Rolling Factory and received a Silver Award. This category awards companies and vendors who, via cross-departmental co-operation and new technologies, optimize their production by reducing waste, creating realistic production plans, accurate sales forecasts, procurement and staff planning, etc.
WHISCO Consultants Inc., the Prime Contractor for the two Sofia Med Projects (and responsible for their support) competed in category 3.1 “Productivity and Performance”, for companies under 30 staff, with a candidacy titled “Advanced Planning and Scheduling Optimization for the Sofia Med Copper Rolling Factory” and received a Gold Award. The category awards manufacturers that have increased their productivity, have reduced production costs while keeping their customer service to a high level. Also, awards vendors that drive manufacturers to such achievements.
According to Mr. Petros Kyrou, Sofia Med Supply Chain Management Director: “The Quintiq Systems provide Sofia Med with invaluable visibility of our supply chain and unwavering reliability towards our customers, further propelling our company’s development.”
The candidate’s evaluation was performed through an online grading from a 23-strong evaluation committee and the awards depend on the grades collected by every candidacy, while only one Gold is awarded in each category. The committee included representatives from professional bodies, prominent academics, and manufacturing industry executives and professionals.
The awards were accepted by Ventsislav Grancharov, Sofia Med Planning Manager, Borislav Ambov, Business Systems Manager at SOFIA MED, and Periklis Tsahageas, WHISCO Consultancy Manager.
